Zepbound Month 4 & 5 Update | Weigh-Ins, Side Effects, Doctor Visit & Dosage Change 💉

Patient storyChase💕10,906 views1:03:45Aug 2025

Our summary

In this video, Chase covers her fourth and fifth months on Zepbound, from a March 13 weigh-in at 268.3 through the end of April. She says she was at 2.5 mg for the first two months and 5 mg for the next two. After a stretch of steady weight she decided to move to 7.5 mg in April, and the video explains that the steady weight and returning cravings drove the decision. She describes giving up stool softeners, adding fiber, probiotics and water, and says her bowel movements became regular, often the morning after a shot. She also mentions a stinging injection at 7.5 mg and a stomach upset after eating fried food.

What else the video covers

She reports her weights: 266.6 in late March, 265.1 on April 2, a stall around 265, then 262.2 on April 10 and 259.4 on April 17. She says her lowest April reading was 257.4 on April 19, and she gained back to about 259 during her period. A section filmed at her doctor's visit has the doctor saying she lost 18 pounds since the last visit, 47 pounds on the medication and 119 pounds overall. The doctor keeps her at 7.5 mg for two more months.

The doctor attributes her frequent burping to the medication combined with her prior sleeve surgery, and suggests avoiding straws and carbonation. The doctor also suggests a trial of an antacid. She says lightheadedness is likely dehydration, and tells her to drink well over 100 ounces of water a day. Chase says she picked up omeprazole, and after two days she had not burped. She plans to keep taking it through May and to raise her water to six or seven bottles a day.

Questions this video answers

Why did she increase Zepbound from 5 mg to 7.5 mg?

Chase says her weight was steady for about a week and a half and her cravings came back. She called her doctor and asked for a 2.5 mg increase, which started on April 2.

What does she say helped constipation on Zepbound?

She says she stopped stool softeners and instead added more fiber such as chia seeds, probiotics and more water. She says she then had regular bowel movements, often the morning after her shot.

What does her doctor say about burping on Zepbound?

The doctor says burping could be a medication side effect, and may be worsened by slowed digestion after her sleeve surgery and by swallowing air. She suggests avoiding straws and carbonation and trying an antacid for a trial period.

How much weight did she lose in her fifth month on Zepbound?

She says she went from about 265.1 on April 2 to 258 on April 24, with a low of 257.4 on April 19. Her doctor says she lost 18 pounds over the two months since her last visit.

Our guides closest to what this video covers, with prices checked weekly.

  • Zepbound dosage chart: every tirzepatide dose, the escalation rule, what each rung lost in the trial, and what it costs

Zepbound has six doses, 2.5 to 15 mg, taken once a week. The label's rule is four weeks at 2.5 mg, then 2.5 mg steps with at least four weeks on each, to a maintenance dose of 5, 10 or 15 mg. In SURMOUNT-1 those three doses lost 15.0, 19.5 and 20.9 percent of body weight over 72 weeks. Direct from Lilly each rung has a price, $299 at 2.5 mg rising to $699 at 10 mg and above, so the chart below carries the dose, the rule, the trial result and the bill in one place, plus the vial and KwikPen concentrations for anyone measuring in units.

  • Zepbound side effects: the label's table by dose, who actually quits, and how it compares to semaglutide

Zepbound's label puts a number on every common side effect at each of its three maintenance doses. Nausea runs 25 to 29 percent against 8 on placebo, diarrhoea 19 to 23, vomiting 8 to 13, constipation 11 to 17. Across the two approval trials, 4.8 to 6.7 percent of people stopped the drug because of side effects, against 3.4 percent on placebo, and most of those who quit did so in the first months, from gut effects during dose escalation. Below that table are the rarer things the label warns about, with the trial rates where it gives them, and the honest comparison to Ozempic's table.

  • GLP-1 constipation, nausea, diarrhoea and fatigue: the label numbers, and what the labels say to do

The four gut effects are the four most common side effects of every GLP-1, and the labels put numbers on them. On Wegovy 2.4 mg: nausea 44%, diarrhoea 30%, constipation 24%, vomiting 24%, fatigue 11%, against 16%, 16%, 11%, 6% and 5% on placebo. On Zepbound at 15 mg: nausea 28%, diarrhoea 23%, constipation 11%, vomiting 13%, fatigue 7%. They cluster around dose increases, they are the reason 6.8% of Wegovy patients and up to 6.7% of Zepbound patients stopped, and both labels prescribe the same fix: climb slower.
