Zepbound 3 Month Update | Final Shot, Honest Side Effects + Doctor Q&A
Our summary
In this video, Chase documents the third month of using Zepbound, covering February 10 to February 28. She says she started the month at 283.15 lbs and finished at 274.50 lbs, and she was on 5 mg for the month. She weighs in on most days and describes small gains from eating more at night and from her period. She says she combines the medication with gym workouts, a dietitian's guidance and mindful eating.

What else the video covers
She describes her side effects. Constipation was the main one, and she says a daily stool softener (Colace) helped, though not right away. By the end of the month she was taking two each morning. She also mentions tiredness, gas and burping, stomach aches, nausea, and a dry mouth and throat around the third shot of the month. She says she gets very hungry a day or two before each injection. She switched her final shot of the month to the inner thigh to see whether that would ease the constipation, and she notes that 5 mg was hard to find because of a shortage.
The middle of the video follows her 3-month visit with her bariatric surgeon, Dr. Mady, who performed her sleeve in 2021. The doctor says she is down 29 lbs since starting the medication in December and 101 lbs from her highest weight, and she plans to keep the 5 mg dose and see her in eight weeks. In a short Q&A, the doctor compares semaglutide and tirzepatide, discusses GLP-1 use after bariatric surgery, ways to manage side effects, insurance coverage and weaning off the medication.

Our guides closest to what this video covers, with prices checked weekly.
- Zepbound dosage chart: every tirzepatide dose, the escalation rule, what each rung lost in the trial, and what it costs
Zepbound has six doses, 2.5 to 15 mg, taken once a week. The label's rule is four weeks at 2.5 mg, then 2.5 mg steps with at least four weeks on each, to a maintenance dose of 5, 10 or 15 mg. In SURMOUNT-1 those three doses lost 15.0, 19.5 and 20.9 percent of body weight over 72 weeks. Direct from Lilly each rung has a price, $299 at 2.5 mg rising to $699 at 10 mg and above, so the chart below carries the dose, the rule, the trial result and the bill in one place, plus the vial and KwikPen concentrations for anyone measuring in units.
- Zepbound side effects: the label's table by dose, who actually quits, and how it compares to semaglutide
Zepbound's label puts a number on every common side effect at each of its three maintenance doses. Nausea runs 25 to 29 percent against 8 on placebo, diarrhoea 19 to 23, vomiting 8 to 13, constipation 11 to 17. Across the two approval trials, 4.8 to 6.7 percent of people stopped the drug because of side effects, against 3.4 percent on placebo, and most of those who quit did so in the first months, from gut effects during dose escalation. Below that table are the rarer things the label warns about, with the trial rates where it gives them, and the honest comparison to Ozempic's table.
- What is Zepbound? Tirzepatide explained: what it treats, how it works, and what it costs
Zepbound is Eli Lilly's brand of tirzepatide, a once-weekly injection that acts on two hormone receptors, GIP and GLP-1. The FDA label approves it, with diet and exercise, for weight reduction in adults with obesity or overweight plus a weight-related condition, and for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity. In the SURMOUNT-5 trial it produced 20.2% average weight loss at 72 weeks against 13.7% for semaglutide. Lilly sells it self-pay from $299 a month.
