$149 at 1.5 mg rising to $299 at 9 mg, for the Wegovy pill. Novo publishes no cash price for Rybelsus at all
Read the spread twice before you buy. Novo sells the branded Wegovy pill direct for $149 a month, and on today's ranking every seller of that same branded pill charges more than that once their membership fee is counted. The prices that beat Novo's are compounded, and compounded semaglutide is not FDA-approved.
Manufacturer price quoted verbatim from its own published terms, checked Aug 27: “Self-pay pricing varies by dose. Patients pay $149 for each month of 1.5 mg, $199 per month for 4 mg and $299 per month for 9 mg and 25 mg. One month defined as 1 bottle of 30 tablets.”
Rybelsus, the Wegovy pill and the Ozempic pill are three different products
All three are semaglutide in a tablet, and that is where the similarity stops. They come in different strengths, they are approved for different things, and two of the three went on sale this year. Anything you read that treats Rybelsus as the semaglutide pill was written before April.
| Pill | Strengths | On sale since | Approved for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rybelsus | 3, 7, 14 mg | September 2019 | Type 2 diabetes |
| Wegovy pill | 1.5, 4, 9, 25 mg | January 2026 | Obesity |
| Ozempic pill | 1.5, 4, 9 mg | April 2026 | Type 2 diabetes |
Strengths and first marketing dates read from the FDA National Drug Code directory on 27 August 2026; the indication is each brand's own FDA label. Rybelsus is still listed there, with no end date.
Novo will not sell you Rybelsus for cash
NovoCare Pharmacy is Novo Nordisk's own self-pay counter. It lists the Wegovy pill and the Ozempic pill. It does not list Rybelsus. If you are paying cash, the useful question is therefore not what Rybelsus costs but which pill you can actually buy, and the answer is above. If you have commercial insurance, the savings card is the cheaper route: Novo advertises as little as $25 a month on it, capped at $100 of savings per month, with government beneficiaries excluded.
What is on this list, and what is not
Eight sellers on our board carry a semaglutide you swallow, and all eight are ranked above. Most of them compound it. Two sell the branded Wegovy pill. None of them carries Rybelsus, so Rybelsus has no row, no price and no rank here. We would rather show you an empty space than a number we did not read off a seller's own page.
How this list is ranked
- All-in, not advertised. A $149 program with a $74 monthly membership is a $223 program, and it ranks as one. Where a seller has not published a fee we could verify, the row says so rather than assuming zero.
- Checked weekly.Every price is read from the seller’s own page and dated. The trail on each row shows the shape; the solid section is our own record.
- Order is price, nothing else. We earn a commission when you buy through these links, and it never changes the order. No seller can pay for position.
- Only sellers we can verify. Programs we cannot check, or that have stopped taking patients, drop off the list rather than sitting on it stale.
