HIMS Core Business Faces Challenges in Guidance, GLP-1 Prices & NVO

Our summary

This Schwab Network segment features two analysts discussing Hims and Hers after its latest quarterly report: Christine Short, head of research at TMX Data Links, and Brian Tanquilut, managing director for healthcare research at Jefferies. The host notes that shares fell at first and then turned positive on the day.

What else the video covers

Short describes the quarter as mixed. She says earnings per share were 8 cents, double what the street expected, while Q4 revenue came in at about 617 million against an expectation of 619 million. She says investors reacted first to Q1 guidance of 600 million to 625 million in revenue, versus a street expectation of about 654 million, which she links to the legal and regulatory crackdown on compounded GLP-1s. She says the CEO, Andrew Dudum, used the call to stress that the company is not only a GLP-1 business, noting that only a small portion of its two and a half million subscribers received GLP-1s and that sexual health and dermatology grew over 30%. She also says the company had to halt the GLP-1 pill it offered earlier in the month.

The analyst from Jefferies says his firm rates the stock a hold with a price target of 16. He says the firm likes the shift toward personalized medicine, but sees the Novo Nordisk lawsuit as an overhang that caps near-term valuation, and says falling GLP-1 prices are reflected in 2026 EBITDA guidance that is below the street at the midpoint. Short adds that demand for GLP-1s should keep rising with lower prices, pills and options that need no refrigeration, which she says makes losing access unfavorable for the company. Both describe the longevity and personalized medicine theme as early stage.

Our guides closest to what this video covers, with prices checked weekly.

  • Is Hims legit? What its GLP-1 program costs, what reviews say, and its FDA record

Yes. Hims & Hers is a real, licensed telehealth company, and as of October 2026 its weight-loss program sells FDA-approved brand-name GLP-1s: the Wegovy pill starts at $149 a month for the medication, plus a membership of $39 for the first month and $149 a month after, so about $298 a month from month two. It scores 2.9 on Trustpilot across 9,517 reviews, and FDA sent it a warning letter in September 2025 over compounded semaglutide marketing claims.

  • Every GLP-1 pill you can actually get, and what each one costs

Four swallowable GLP-1s exist now, and three of them launched in 2026. Rybelsus, the Wegovy pill and the Ozempic pill are all semaglutide in a tablet but are approved for different things; Foundayo is a different molecule entirely and the only one with no food or timing rules. Two are for weight, two are for type 2 diabetes, and the cheapest thing on most rankings is not any of them. Here is the whole landscape, with what each actually costs.

  • GLP-1s without insurance: what each route actually costs

Without insurance you have three real routes and they are far apart. Buying direct from the manufacturer is the branded one: Novo publishes $349 a month for the Wegovy pen and from $149 for the tablet, Lilly $299 to $699 for Zepbound by dose. Compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide from a telehealth program is a fraction of that but is not FDA-approved. And the savings cards you will be pointed at mostly require commercial insurance, so if you have none they are not available to you at all.
