SEMAGLUTIDE JOURNEY *week 2* // Food guilt (let's talk about it), finding balance + down 8 lbs!
Our summary
In this week two update, the creator says she is on her second week of semaglutide and takes her second shot on Friday, October 11 at 9:15 in the morning, again in the stomach. She says she felt about level two nausea afterward, then heavy tiredness, which she calls the worst symptom so far. She reports little appetite on injection day and a stronger appetite the day before, and she says she tracks her food and tries to eat enough.
One person's experience, in their words. Not medical advice.

What else the video covers
She describes the rest of the week through vlog clips: a 3 mile walk and run on Sunday, a long grocery haul, a trip to the vet with her dogs, and a visit from her best friend. Midweek she says she noticed that she was neither hungry nor full while eating, which worried her because she says that is where she usually overeats. She says she aims for about 12 to 1400 calories a day and that protein, including one day of roughly 50 grams, is what she most needs to improve.
The longest section is a late-night talk about food guilt. After loaded fries and a chocolate treat, she says she fell into an all-or-nothing pattern tied to her binging tendencies, and she talks herself through not finishing the rest. In the weekly recap she says she lost 3.2 lbs that week, for 8.2 lbs down since starting semaglutide and 10 lbs down overall. She says she felt less guilty after eating a split bagel, sushi and ice cream, and that she still lost weight.

- Semaglutide side effects, and what compounding does and does not change
Semaglutide's side effects are gastrointestinal: nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation, worst early and after each dose increase. Those belong to the molecule, so they are the same whether it came in a Novo Nordisk pen or a compounding pharmacy's vial. What compounding changes is everything around the molecule. A compounded drug is not FDA-approved, so the finished product has not been reviewed for safety, effectiveness or manufacturing quality, and the FDA has said the enforcement discretion that allowed 503A pharmacies to compound semaglutide has ended. It also usually arrives as a vial and a syringe rather than a pre-set pen, which moves dose measurement to you.
- Semaglutide for weight loss: which version, and what each costs
Semaglutide is the molecule. For weight loss the FDA-approved version is Wegovy, sold as a weekly pen and a daily tablet. Ozempic is the same molecule approved for type 2 diabetes, so using it for weight is off-label. Compounded semaglutide is the same molecule from a compounding pharmacy, is not FDA-approved, and is what most cash buyers actually take because it costs a fraction of the brand. All three produce the same side effects. What differs is the approval, the oversight and the price.
- The best GLP-1 for weight loss, ranked by the evidence and then by the bill
By weight lost, the order is settled: tirzepatide (Zepbound) first at 20.2% in the only head-to-head, then semaglutide 7.2 mg (Wegovy HD) at 18.7%, then semaglutide 2.4 mg (Wegovy) at 13.7% to 15.6%, then the pills. By what you pay, the order nearly inverts: compounded semaglutide from $69 a month, the Wegovy tablet from $149, Wegovy pen $349, Zepbound $299 to $699 by dose. The best one is where those two lists meet for your budget and your plan.
