HIMS Slides 25% After NVO Sues Company Over Generic GLP-1 Pills
Our summary
According to the video, a Schwab Network Morning Trade Live segment covers Hims & Hers pulling its compounded semaglutide pill after Novo Nordisk threatened legal action. Reporter Marley Kayden says Novo Nordisk shares were up almost 5% that morning, while Hims & Hers was down more than 26%. She explains that Hims had announced a compounded version of Novo's Wegovy pill the week before, offered at $49, which she says is roughly $100 less than Novo's price for its Wegovy pill through Novo Care.

What else the video covers
Kayden describes the legal background as she understands it. Compounders were able to copy drugs that were in shortage, and semaglutide was short in the US and Europe. She says Novo Nordisk has since expanded manufacturing, including buying a manufacturer for more than $16 billion, and has resolved the supply constraints, which would theoretically close that loophole. She also says the FDA announced what it calls decisive steps to restrict these practices. Citi cut its price target from $30 to $16.50 with a sell rating, and Bank of America cut its target from $26 to $21 with an underperform rating. Kayden says Eli Lilly also traded higher.
In the second half, Charles Moon of Proper Trading Academy gives his view. He calls the outlook for Hims very negative, says other companies such as Eli Lilly might consider lawsuits, and describes a put option trade targeting a drop toward $10. He then turns to the wider market, citing Dow volatility, a pending Supreme Court tariff opinion, delayed jobs data and weak large tech stocks. These are his opinions, not advice.
