I TRIED Wegovy for 30 days and THIS happened!
Our summary
In this video, Shawn, who runs the channel The Izms of Shawn, shares his first month on Wegovy. He says he is taking it for its weight loss effects and has completed four doses, with the fifth due that night. He notes that he did not make big changes to how he eats or exercises: by his estimate he ate clean about 50 to 60 percent of the time and ate what he wanted the rest of the time, and his only regular activity was adult league dodgeball once or twice a week.

What else the video covers
Shawn reports that the medication reduced his appetite. The only side effect he describes is fatigue during the first three to four days after each weekly shot, when he says he takes long naps. He had no nausea, though he mentions one occasion when he thought he ate too much and had an upset stomach. He also says he started recording his progress for accountability, and that he saw few Black men or men in general documenting their experience with the medication.
On results, Shawn says his starting weight was 355 pounds and his first weigh-in with the doctor was 352 pounds. After the first month he weighed 347 pounds, which he describes as about 5 pounds overall, or around 7 counting from when he first started trying to lose weight. He says his hunger returned near the end of the week as his next injection came due, so he and his doctor agreed to raise the dose from 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg, which he starts the day of the video. He plans to post a second month update.

- Wegovy side effects, and why the top of the ladder is different
Wegovy's side effects are semaglutide's side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation, worst in the first weeks and after each dose increase. What makes Wegovy different from Ozempic is not the molecule but the destination. Wegovy is dosed for weight management, climbing to 2.4 mg with a 7.2 mg high-dose strength above it, and dose is the main driver of how pronounced the gastrointestinal effects get. It also carries a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumour risk. One useful fact while you decide whether to push through: Novo's self-pay price is flat across every pen dose, so a slower climb costs a brand patient nothing.
- Wegovy 7.2 mg (Wegovy HD): what the higher dose adds, and what it costs
Wegovy HD is semaglutide at 7.2 mg, three times the standard 2.4 mg dose, in its own pen. In the STEP UP trial it took 18.7% off body weight at 72 weeks against 15.6% for 2.4 mg and 3.9% for placebo, in 1,407 adults with obesity. That puts it within 1.5 points of tirzepatide's head-to-head result and makes it the strongest semaglutide there is. Novo sells it direct for $399 a month, $50 above the standard pen, and it sits above the normal ladder rather than replacing it.
- How long do Ozempic, Wegovy and Zepbound take to work? The label calendar and the trial timepoints
GLP-1s act from the first dose, but the labels start low on purpose and step up every 4 weeks, so most people do not reach a full dose for 3 to 5 months. Each dose reaches steady levels in the blood after about 4 to 5 weeks. In the trials, people averaged 10.6% weight loss after 20 weeks of Wegovy's escalation and 20.9% after 36 weeks of Zepbound, with the full trial results at 68 to 72 weeks. For type 2 diabetes, Ozempic's A1C results were measured at week 30.
