My first 10 days on the Wegovy Pill (1.5 mg)
Our summary
In this video, Jay (the channel is Joseph Cavallaro Jr.) gives a day 10 update on taking the Wegovy pill at 1.5 mg. He says he would rate the medicine 9 out of 10. He explains that a 10 would require no dose increase and zero side effects. He describes the first few days as a transition period that was not brutal, and says side effects are now almost nothing.

What else the video covers
He says he started at 277 lb and weighed about 273 lb the day before recording. He estimates the loss at somewhere between 2 lb and 4 lb and is unsure how much is water. His main observation is that he gets full faster. He describes eating a pretzel and a small pepperoni pizza from Wawa, staying within his self-imposed 2,000 calorie limit for the day, and struggling to finish the pizza. He says he could previously eat a whole large pizza or 20 wings, and that he now feels he can enjoy foods he likes without overeating. He adds that the effect seems to fade toward the end of the day, and lasts longer when he takes the pill later.
Looking ahead, he says he plans to ask his doctor about moving up to 4 mg at his next refill, while preferring the lowest dose that keeps loss slow and steady. He mentions a goal of 190 lb, or at least 50 lb in a year, and wants to avoid losing too fast because of gallstones or kidney stones. He says his price is $150 a month, which he expects to rise to $200 supposedly in April. He says he still goes to the gym and tries to eat healthy, and that he plans a couple more updates before his refill.

- The Wegovy pill: what each dose costs, and how it compares with the pen
Wegovy is now sold as a daily tablet as well as a weekly injection, and the tablet self-pays cheaper. Novo's published prices run $149 a month at 1.5 mg, $199 at 4 mg and $299 at 9 mg and 25 mg. The $149 offer on 4 mg ended on 31 August 2026. There are also three different semaglutide pills on the market now, which is the thing most pages about this have not caught up with.
- Wegovy side effects, and why the top of the ladder is different
Wegovy's side effects are semaglutide's side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation, worst in the first weeks and after each dose increase. What makes Wegovy different from Ozempic is not the molecule but the destination. Wegovy is dosed for weight management, climbing to 2.4 mg with a 7.2 mg high-dose strength above it, and dose is the main driver of how pronounced the gastrointestinal effects get. It also carries a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumour risk. One useful fact while you decide whether to push through: Novo's self-pay price is flat across every pen dose, so a slower climb costs a brand patient nothing.
- Wegovy 7.2 mg (Wegovy HD): what the higher dose adds, and what it costs
Wegovy HD is semaglutide at 7.2 mg, three times the standard 2.4 mg dose, in its own pen. In the STEP UP trial it took 18.7% off body weight at 72 weeks against 15.6% for 2.4 mg and 3.9% for placebo, in 1,407 adults with obesity. That puts it within 1.5 points of tirzepatide's head-to-head result and makes it the strongest semaglutide there is. Novo sells it direct for $399 a month, $50 above the standard pen, and it sits above the normal ladder rather than replacing it.
