Wegovy Weight Loss Journey | Week #4 Results on 0.25MG #wegovy #pounds

Patient storyTraces of Twaun's Life16,181 views12:28Mar 2023

Our summary

In this update, recorded on March 25, 2023, the creator says she has finished four weeks on Wegovy at 0.25 mg and moved up to 0.5 mg on the Wednesday of that week. She describes a doctor visit on Thursday where her weight and an InBody scan were compared with her first appointment on February 22.

One person's experience, in their words. Not medical advice.

What else the video covers

She says her starting weight in the doctor's office was 394.4 pounds and that it was 380.4 pounds at the March visit, which the scan reported as a 14 pound drop with clothes on. Weighing at home without clothes, she says she is 377.8 pounds, down 16.6 pounds. She walks through what the scan shows, including body fat mass moving from 163.4 to 158.7 and about three pounds lost in the trunk area. She says skeletal muscle mass went from 102.3 to 97.7, which the doctor told her is still within a normal range of 90 to 110, so she plans to lift weights and eat more protein.

She says she follows 1500 to 1800 calories a day, with a few days over, and that her doctor had her track protein, calories, carbs, sugar and water but not fat. Her goal is to get under 300 pounds, at 299 or lower, by December 31, which she puts at about 78 more pounds. After more than 48 hours on 0.5 mg she says she has had no side effects or tiredness.

Questions this video answers

How much weight did she lose in four weeks on Wegovy 0.25 mg?

She says she lost 14 pounds by the doctor's scale with clothes on, from 394.4 to 380.4 pounds. Weighing herself without clothes at home, she reports 377.8 pounds, which she calls a 16.6 pound loss.

What does an InBody scan show during Wegovy treatment?

According to the video, her doctor's InBody scan shows intracellular and extracellular water, dry lean mass, body fat mass, and the weight of each arm, each leg and the trunk. She says it showed her body fat mass dropping from 163.4 to 158.7 and about three pounds lost in the trunk.

Did she have side effects when moving from Wegovy 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg?

She says that after more than 48 hours on 0.5 mg she had no side effects and none of the slowness or tiredness she says some people report. She adds that she will keep monitoring and report back.

What did her doctor say about muscle loss and diet on Wegovy?

She says her doctor told her that her skeletal muscle mass of 97.7 is within the 90 to 110 average, but advised not losing more. She also says the doctor was fine with her 1500 to 1800 calories a day and did not ask her to track fat.

Our guides closest to what this video covers, with prices checked weekly.

  • Who qualifies for Wegovy and Zepbound? The BMI rules, the conditions, and what your plan adds

You qualify for Wegovy or Zepbound for weight loss as an adult with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol. Wegovy also treats adults with heart disease at BMI 27 and up, and a liver disease called MASH; Zepbound also treats sleep apnea at BMI 30 and up. Insurers often ask for more: Aetna's 2026 policy wants BMI 35 and six months in a weight program, and Medicare's Bridge wants BMI 35, or 30 or 27 with specific conditions.

  • Wegovy 7.2 mg (Wegovy HD): what the higher dose adds, and what it costs

Wegovy HD is semaglutide at 7.2 mg, three times the standard 2.4 mg dose, in its own pen. In the STEP UP trial it took 18.7% off body weight at 72 weeks against 15.6% for 2.4 mg and 3.9% for placebo, in 1,407 adults with obesity. That puts it within 1.5 points of tirzepatide's head-to-head result and makes it the strongest semaglutide there is. Novo sells it direct for $399 a month, $50 above the standard pen, and it sits above the normal ladder rather than replacing it.

  • Wegovy side effects, and why the top of the ladder is different

Wegovy's side effects are semaglutide's side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation, worst in the first weeks and after each dose increase. What makes Wegovy different from Ozempic is not the molecule but the destination. Wegovy is dosed for weight management, climbing to 2.4 mg with a 7.2 mg high-dose strength above it, and dose is the main driver of how pronounced the gastrointestinal effects get. It also carries a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumour risk. One useful fact while you decide whether to push through: Novo's self-pay price is flat across every pen dose, so a slower climb costs a brand patient nothing.
