My Mounjaro Experience - Loosing 10lbs in my first 10 day on Tirzepatide. GLP-1 Journey, Weight Loss
Our summary
In this two-week update, Keisha, who vlogs under the channel name Keeping Up with Keisha, says she is down 10 lbs since starting Mounjaro (tirzepatide). She states she is not a nurse, doctor or medical professional and is sharing her experience as it happens. She says her first injection was on a Thursday night, and that the next day she heard her stomach growling without feeling real hunger. Her period also started that day, which she links to hormones responding to changes in how she eats. She reports being down 6 lbs by Sunday morning and says she believes much of that was water weight.
One person's experience, in their words. Not medical advice.

What else the video covers
Keisha says she has had no nausea or constipation that she attributes to the medication, and she notes that people respond differently. Her one possible side effect was waking up very thirsty with a dry mouth the day after her second or third injection. She credits the medication with reducing what she calls food noise, the constant thinking about food, and says her desire for alcohol faded too. She estimates her calories dropped by half or more. She also mentions drinking a lot of water and electrolyte water, going back to some exercise, and getting many steps from her commute.
She also covers injection sites and timing. She injected her stomach first, then what she describes as the back of her arm, and says she is nervous about trying her thigh. She says her appetite is lowest on Friday and Saturday after a Thursday night injection, and that food noise starts to return by Tuesday or Wednesday. She suggests picking an injection day with that pattern and your schedule in mind. She says a separate video on emotional changes is coming.

Our guides closest to what this video covers, with prices checked weekly.
- Mounjaro side effects: the label's numbers by dose, the low blood sugar risk, and how tirzepatide compares at weight-loss doses
On Mounjaro's own label, the common side effects are stomach ones and they rise with the dose: nausea in 12, 15 and 18 percent of people at 5, 10 and 15 mg against 4 percent on placebo, diarrhea 12 to 17 against 9, and any gastrointestinal reaction in 37 to 44 percent against 20. Most of it happens while the dose is being raised and fades. Low blood sugar is rare on Mounjaro alone and is mainly a risk when it is added to insulin or a sulfonylurea. Below: the full table, the rare warnings, and why Zepbound's numbers for the same molecule look higher.
- Mounjaro for weight loss, and why Zepbound exists
Mounjaro is tirzepatide approved for type 2 diabetes. Zepbound is the same molecule from the same maker, approved for weight management, and it goes to the same 15 mg. So unlike Ozempic and Wegovy, there is no dose ceiling pushing you from one to the other: the reason people move is coverage and cash price, not strength. Using Mounjaro for weight is off-label and a prescriber's decision. In the one head-to-head trial, tirzepatide beat semaglutide, 20.2% mean body-weight loss at 72 weeks against 13.7%.
- Mounjaro vs Ozempic, and the trial everyone quotes about it
Mounjaro is tirzepatide and Ozempic is semaglutide: different molecules, not two brands of the same drug. Both are approved for type 2 diabetes, and the weight-loss versions are Zepbound and Wegovy. In the one head-to-head trial, SURMOUNT-5, tirzepatide produced 20.2% mean body-weight loss at 72 weeks against semaglutide's 13.7%. The detail almost every page omits: that trial dosed semaglutide to 2.4 mg in people without diabetes, which is the Wegovy range. Ozempic tops out at 2 mg. The famous result did not test Ozempic's dose range.
