Wegovy week 2-3 update. I spilled it.. Weightless update - symptoms - side effects
Our summary
Jennifer Oller gives an update at the start of her fourth week on Wegovy. She explains that in week two she spilled a dose. She says the pen's first click came as she pulled it away from her stomach, because she had not pressed hard enough, and the medicine ended up on the floor. She says CVS Pharmacy told her to finish the remaining injections and call back when she needed the fourth one, so they could look into an override for lost or damaged medication.

What else the video covers
She says that in the meantime her next month's prescription at the 0.5 dose had already been submitted, since her program asks patients to request the next month's supply after three weeks. She emailed her doctor to say she had no side effects on the 0.25 mg dose and asked whether she could simply start the next packet now. The doctor approved, so she began the 0.5 packet a week early. She also says she went through a few pre-authorizations before Wegovy was the medication her plan approved, and that people may not automatically get Ozempic.
On results, she reports a total loss of 6.4 pounds from a starting weight of 206 pounds. She says she weighed 199.6 on Friday and 202 on Monday morning after a weekend out for St. Patrick's Day, and that weekends tend to set her back. She reports no symptoms, more energy, smaller portions and less hunger. She says the medicine gives her motivation and focus. She plans to update again only if something changes or side effects appear.

Questions this video answers
What happens if you spill your Wegovy dose?
Jennifer says her pharmacy, CVS, told her to continue with her remaining injections and call when she needed the fourth one, so they could look into an override for lost or damaged medication. In her case her doctor instead approved starting the next dose early.
How much weight did she lose in the first three weeks on Wegovy?
She says she lost a total of 6.4 pounds, from a starting weight of 206 pounds. She notes her weight moves up after weekends, and she weighed 202 pounds on the Monday of week four.
What side effects did she have on Wegovy 0.25 mg?
She says she had no symptoms or side effects on the 0.25 mg dose. She describes feeling great, having more energy, and wanting to eat less.
How does the Wegovy injection pen work according to her?
She says you remove the lid, press the pen to your skin, hear one click as the medicine runs through, then hear a second click. She says she did not press firmly enough the first time, so the medicine came out after she pulled it away.

- Wegovy 7.2 mg (Wegovy HD): what the higher dose adds, and what it costs
Wegovy HD is semaglutide at 7.2 mg, three times the standard 2.4 mg dose, in its own pen. In the STEP UP trial it took 18.7% off body weight at 72 weeks against 15.6% for 2.4 mg and 3.9% for placebo, in 1,407 adults with obesity. That puts it within 1.5 points of tirzepatide's head-to-head result and makes it the strongest semaglutide there is. Novo sells it direct for $399 a month, $50 above the standard pen, and it sits above the normal ladder rather than replacing it.
- Wegovy pill vs injection: the same semaglutide, two schedules, two price lists
The Wegovy pill and the Wegovy pen are the same drug, semaglutide. The pill is one tablet a day on an empty stomach with a little water; the pen is one injection a week at any time. Novo's cash price is $149 to $299 a month for the pill by strength and $349 for the pen. In separate placebo trials the top tablet dose and the pen produced similar average weight loss.
- How much does Wegovy cost: the pen, the pill, insured, cash, Medicare and compounded, in one table
Wegovy costs six different amounts depending on who is paying. A commercial plan that covers it brings it to $25 a month with Novo's card, capped at $100 of savings. Medicare covers it for $50 a month through the GLP-1 Bridge until the end of 2027. Cash, the pen is $349 a month at every dose, $199 for the first two fills if you are new, and $399 for the 7.2 mg HD pen; the pill is $149, $199 or $299 by strength. Compounded semaglutide, the same molecule without FDA approval, starts at $69 on our board. This page holds all six with their conditions and their sources.
