"Medicaid paid" is CMS's Medicaid Amount Reimbursed; "Per Rx" divides it by the state's prescriptions. Before rebates. All 52 rows, with every column, are in the CSV and JSON.
How the number is computed
Sum of "Medicaid Amount Reimbursed" across all four quarters of 2025, fee-for-service and managed care, for every GLP-1 product NDC. The national figure is CMS's national row (state code XX).
Included
- Products: Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus, Mounjaro, Zepbound, Trulicity, Victoza, Saxenda, Liraglutide (generic), Byetta, Bydureon, Exenatide (generic), Adlyxin.
Excluded
- Insulin combinations: Soliqua (insulin glargine and lixisenatide); Xultophy (insulin degludec and liraglutide).
- The non-Medicaid share of reimbursement (in the export as total_reimbursed_usd).
- Rows CMS suppressed for privacy.
Read it with care
- Reimbursement is what Medicaid paid pharmacies, before the manufacturer rebates states receive; CMS does not publish net cost per drug.
- CMS suppresses any row with fewer than 11 prescriptions; those rows count as zero here, so small states and small products are undercounted slightly.
- Totals reflect state program size as much as use: no per-enrollee rate is published in this dataset.
- State figures are as reported by the states and can be revised by CMS.
