One Month on Mounjaro Results! Big Weight Loss with PCOS
Our summary
Kate, who runs the Kate Tries channel, reports on her first month taking Mounjaro. She says she began her channel trying to lose 50 pounds through 10 diets, kept losing and regaining the same 25 pounds, and later identified binge eating disorder and PCOS. She says she stopped metformin after about a month because her hands and feet went numb. Her regular doctor prescribed Ozempic, but she says her insurance did not cover it and it would have cost about 900 a month, so she found a weight loss clinic offering Mounjaro for roughly 300 a month, possibly less.

What else the video covers
She gives her weigh-ins: 203.8 pounds before starting, 199.2 after week one (4.6 pounds lost), 195.4 in the second week (3.8 pounds), and 192.8 at the fourth weigh-in (2.6 pounds), for 11 pounds total in the first month. She says this is more than she lost walking three miles a day, and that she exercised about twice this month. Her reported side effects are a migraine on day one and strong fatigue. She says she feels much less hungry, her blood sugar seems steadier, her hunger-related migraines have stopped, and she has not binged. Her doctor recommended iodine and vitamin D, and she says vitamin B is in the injection. She also takes Lexapro.
The rest of the video covers her views and a product plug. She argues that people should show more empathy toward those who struggle with weight, and says medication can help when the body lacks certain chemicals. She then presents a 30-day guided journal for grief and trauma that she published on Amazon, called The Other Side.

- Mounjaro for weight loss, and why Zepbound exists
Mounjaro is tirzepatide approved for type 2 diabetes. Zepbound is the same molecule from the same maker, approved for weight management, and it goes to the same 15 mg. So unlike Ozempic and Wegovy, there is no dose ceiling pushing you from one to the other: the reason people move is coverage and cash price, not strength. Using Mounjaro for weight is off-label and a prescriber's decision. In the one head-to-head trial, tirzepatide beat semaglutide, 20.2% mean body-weight loss at 72 weeks against 13.7%.
- Mounjaro vs Ozempic, and the trial everyone quotes about it
Mounjaro is tirzepatide and Ozempic is semaglutide: different molecules, not two brands of the same drug. Both are approved for type 2 diabetes, and the weight-loss versions are Zepbound and Wegovy. In the one head-to-head trial, SURMOUNT-5, tirzepatide produced 20.2% mean body-weight loss at 72 weeks against semaglutide's 13.7%. The detail almost every page omits: that trial dosed semaglutide to 2.4 mg in people without diabetes, which is the Wegovy range. Ozempic tops out at 2 mg. The famous result did not test Ozempic's dose range.
- How to get Mounjaro: the diabetes route, and why the weight route is a different box
Mounjaro is approved for type 2 diabetes in adults and children from 10, and Lilly's own site says it is not a weight-loss drug. With a diabetes diagnosis, any prescriber can write it and a commercial plan that covers it brings it to $25 with Lilly's card. Without diabetes, a prescriber can write it off-label, but no insurer will cover it and LillyDirect self-pay starts at $499 a month, against a list price of $1,112.16 per fill. The same tirzepatide in the Zepbound box is approved for weight, plan-coverable, and sold direct for $299 to $699.
