My two month journey on Ozempic | My thoughts + experience
Our summary
Molina, a YouTube creator who usually makes reaction videos about fat acceptance and body positivity, shares her own experience with compounded semaglutide. She says she is not a doctor, explains that Ozempic and Wegovy are both semaglutide and that Mounjaro and Zepbound are both tirzepatide, and argues that GLP-1 medications are a tool rather than cheating. She says people should try diet and exercise first, that the shortage argument no longer applies, and that users should pair the medication with therapy or lifestyle work.

What else the video covers
She describes her history: she is 4'11", gained weight after leaving the Marine Corps, got down to 113 lbs through diet and exercise, then spent about three years bouncing between roughly 113 and 127 lbs. She describes lifelong binge eating and what she calls food noise, a constant stream of thoughts about food, and says she hired a coach in March, stopped around July, and slipped back into eating out. She started compounded semaglutide on November 15, 2024, at 125 lbs, and reads her notes: nausea on day 2, no urge to eat cookie dough by day 3, an unfinished lunch on day 4, and constipation she says fiber fixed.
She says she stayed at 0.25 (the unit is not stated) and never went above it, that a vial loses potency after 28 days once punctured, and that she skipped doses in February after feeling sick before a Saturday trail run. She is currently off the drug for half marathon training, has a 10K time of 56:29, and says she holds around 112 to 113 lbs. She says she plans to keep taking it because of what it does for her focus, and that she gets it through a doctor with lab work. She notes she is not paid and promises a separate FAQ video.

Questions this video answers
What is the difference between Ozempic and Wegovy?
According to the video, they are the same medication, semaglutide. She says Ozempic is prescribed for type 2 diabetes and Wegovy for obesity or overweight. She says the same is true of tirzepatide sold as Mounjaro and Zepbound.
What is food noise on semaglutide?
She describes food noise as a constant stream of thoughts about food from morning to night, which she compares to a faulty air conditioner humming in the background. She says semaglutide quieted it for her.
What side effects did she have in the first weeks of compounded semaglutide?
She reports nausea the night after her first dose and constipation on day 5, which she says is easy to manage with more fiber. She also says she felt sick before a trail run when she injected on a Friday night, so she moved her dose day.
Does she say you can stop semaglutide and keep the weight off?
She says some people stop and maintain their weight, and that regain happens after diets and surgery too if the underlying problem is not addressed. She herself paused for half marathon training and reports staying around 112 to 113 lbs for a few weeks.

Our guides closest to what this video covers, with prices checked weekly.
- Mounjaro vs Ozempic, and the trial everyone quotes about it
Mounjaro is tirzepatide and Ozempic is semaglutide: different molecules, not two brands of the same drug. Both are approved for type 2 diabetes, and the weight-loss versions are Zepbound and Wegovy. In the one head-to-head trial, SURMOUNT-5, tirzepatide produced 20.2% mean body-weight loss at 72 weeks against semaglutide's 13.7%. The detail almost every page omits: that trial dosed semaglutide to 2.4 mg in people without diabetes, which is the Wegovy range. Ozempic tops out at 2 mg. The famous result did not test Ozempic's dose range.
- Mounjaro for weight loss, and why Zepbound exists
Mounjaro is tirzepatide approved for type 2 diabetes. Zepbound is the same molecule from the same maker, approved for weight management, and it goes to the same 15 mg. So unlike Ozempic and Wegovy, there is no dose ceiling pushing you from one to the other: the reason people move is coverage and cash price, not strength. Using Mounjaro for weight is off-label and a prescriber's decision. In the one head-to-head trial, tirzepatide beat semaglutide, 20.2% mean body-weight loss at 72 weeks against 13.7%.
- Semaglutide for weight loss: which version, and what each costs
Semaglutide is the molecule. For weight loss the FDA-approved version is Wegovy, sold as a weekly pen and a daily tablet. Ozempic is the same molecule approved for type 2 diabetes, so using it for weight is off-label. Compounded semaglutide is the same molecule from a compounding pharmacy, is not FDA-approved, and is what most cash buyers actually take because it costs a fraction of the brand. All three produce the same side effects. What differs is the approval, the oversight and the price.
