What GLP-1 meds actually cost outside the US
Here's the part US price comparisons rarely mention: if you live abroad, the telehealth programs we track are off the table. They bill a US card, ship to a US address, and lean on a US-licensed prescriber — and the same goes for every US compounding pharmacy. The upside is real, though. In most countries the cash price for brand Ozempic and Wegovy lands well under the US sticker, so the cheapest legitimate route is usually a licensed pharmacy in your own market.
Cheap can cost you
A price that looks too low almost always is. Any site offering to mail you Ozempic across borders with no prescription is a red flag, not a bargain — regulators in the UK, EU, and across Asia-Pacific have seized fake pens that arrived through exactly these channels. Stick to pharmacies licensed where you live, even if the headline number is a little higher. Our scam checker guide works the same way in every country.
Monthly cost, country by country
United Kingdom
On the NHS, Wegovy and Mounjaro are tightly rationed, so most people pay out of pocket through a private online clinic. Budget roughly £120-£250/month for private Wegovy. Any legitimate UK pharmacy will route your script through a CQC-registered prescriber — if one skips that step, walk away.
European Union
A prescription gets you Ozempic or Wegovy in most member states, but the cash price swings hard by country and dose — anywhere from €80 to €300/month. Shopping across borders within the EU can shave the bill, yet compounded GLP-1s generally can't be sold across borders, so don't count on a cheaper compounded version arriving from another country.
Canada
Canada is one of the bigger bargains on this list: with a prescription, Ozempic and Wegovy usually run CAD $200-$400/month in cash, far under the US counter price. Provincial drug plans may chip in, but typically only when the prescription is for type 2 diabetes rather than weight loss.
Australia
Wegovy reached Australia in 2024, while Ozempic still comes and goes amid supply squeezes. Out-of-pocket, private scripts land somewhere between AUD $130 and $460/month depending on dose and pharmacy. Telehealth is a legitimate way to get one here, provided the prescriber is AHPRA-registered.
Singapore & Asia-Pacific
In Singapore, licensed clinics dispense Wegovy and Ozempic through HSA-approved channels at roughly SGD $300-$500/month. It's tempting to chase a cheaper gray-market import, but this is the worst region in which to do it — counterfeit GLP-1 pens circulate widely, and the savings vanish the moment you receive a fake.
